Google have recently added 2 new search features to assist users in the search process. The 2 features are...
1. Google Instant
2. Google Preview
You may have noticed when your're performing a web search that Google has started anticipating what you're going to search for, not only this but the search results update as you type. This is Google instant. The intention is to speed up your search. How does it help you? It probably saves you a couple of seconds a day... maybe?!
Google Preview is a feature that is a little less obvious. When you look at search results in Google now you will see a magnifying glass next to each result. If you click on this you will see a preview of the website page that is listed in the result. This saves you from having to click on the search result and visit the page to see what the website looks like, it also shows you where the search term you searched for is found on that page.
Both features have little immediate benefit to you but as the technology and awareness develops they may grow into tools we cannot live without.
